To the Editor:

Why does Texas have many more death penalty killings than any other state? Texas kills more people than any other state. Not only does it cost millions of tax dollars for taxpayers to pay for each killing; it has not and does not stop people from murdering.

Besides all that, what suffering does the killer have when they are put to a calm, nice sleep and just never wake up? They feel no pain.

If someone kills one of my family or friends, I don’t want to see them go peacefully; I want them to be put in prison for the rest of their life so they can suffer every day knowing they have no chance of ever being free again. All they can do is sit in a cell and miserably suffer for what they did.
